Retail is the thinnest category in this directory, and that fact is more informative than the list itself.

If stablecoins were becoming a general consumer payment method, this page would be the longest on the site. It is one of the shortest, and the shape of the list tells you why. What you will find below falls into three groups. There are crypto-native stores, which take stablecoins because that is their entire proposition and there is no card option at all. There are gift card platforms, which are really currency converters wearing a retail interface. And there is a small number of conventional retailers — an electronics chain, a regional Sony storefront, a large American component retailer — that added a crypto button and kept it. What is almost entirely absent is ordinary retail: clothing, groceries, furniture, the things people actually spend money on week to week. That absence is not a gap in our research. It reflects the economics. Retail runs on thin margins, high return rates and a customer expectation of easy refunds, and an irreversible payment method that offers the merchant no chargeback protection but also strips the customer of theirs is a poor fit for all three. Where stablecoins have taken hold instead is where returns are rare and delivery is instant, which is why this directory is dominated by hosting and software rather than by shops.
Before you pay
- Refunds are outbound payments the merchant chooses to make. On physical goods with a return window, that is a meaningful difference from a card.
- For a large purchase, send a small test transaction first and confirm it lands before sending the balance.
- Crypto-only stores cannot fall back to a card if the checkout misbehaves — but they also cannot silently switch the option off, which gateway-dependent merchants do.
- Regional acceptance is common. Sony takes USDC in Singapore and nowhere else.

The three kinds of store on this list
Crypto-only merchants. Crypto Emporium and BitDials take no fiat at all. Watches, cars, electronics, luxury goods. The option will never disappear from the checkout because there is no other checkout. What you give up is any fallback and, on purchases that can reach five figures, any chargeback.
Gift card platforms. Bitrefill, Coinsbee and CoinCards are in the shopping category because that is how people use them, but they are really conversion services. You are buying access to retailers that do not accept your coin. Useful, and covered properly on our gift cards page.
Conventional retailers with a crypto button. Newegg, Alza, Sony’s Singapore store. These are the genuinely interesting entries, because they are ordinary businesses making a deliberate choice. There are not many of them.
What the shortness of this list means
We could pad it. Plenty of directories do — listing every Shopify store that has ever enabled a crypto plugin, or counting merchant-of-record platforms as if each downstream store were its own listing.
The reason we do not is that it would misrepresent the thing readers are trying to find out. Someone searching “online stores that accept USDC” wants to know whether they can buy things with their stablecoins. The truthful answer is: a narrow set of things, mostly technical, plus anything reachable through a gift card.
There is a structural reason and it is worth stating. Retail depends on refunds being easy. Return rates in apparel run above twenty percent; in electronics they are lower but still material. Every one of those returns, paid in stablecoins, becomes a manual outbound payment rather than an automatic reversal — and the merchant carries the exchange-rate and operational cost of making it. Meanwhile the merchant’s usual reason to want crypto, chargeback elimination, matters less in retail than in digital goods because friendly fraud is a smaller share of the problem.
The economics point away from retail. They have for years, and this quarter’s data does not move them.
Sony is the exception worth reading closely
Sony Electronics Singapore accepts USDC. Sony does not.
That distinction is the entire lesson of this category. A national subsidiary, one storefront, one payment provider, in a jurisdiction with a workable regulatory framework — and headlines that read “Sony accepts stablecoins”. The same pattern produced Emirates in the UAE.
When a large brand appears on a list like this, the first question is always: which entity, which country, which product line. The answer is usually much narrower than the announcement.
If the store you want is not here
It probably will not be. The realistic route is a gift card, and the cost is a few percent embedded in the exchange rate. That is a worse deal than direct acceptance and a better one than not being able to spend the money at all.

Does Amazon accept USDC?
No, and there is no indication it intends to. The workable route is an Amazon gift card bought with stablecoins from a reseller, which costs you a small spread and works today.
Which large retailers actually accept USDC?
Newegg accepts a broad list through BitPay including USDC, DAI, GUSD and USDP. Alza takes USDC on Ethereum through Confirmo. Sony's Singapore online store accepts USDC via Crypto.com Pay, but only there. That is close to the whole picture for household names.
What happens if I need to return something I paid for in USDC?
The merchant's returns policy still applies to the goods. The refund mechanism is what changes: instead of a reversal, someone at the merchant initiates a payment back to you, possibly as store credit. Check the policy before buying anything you might send back.
Why do so few shops accept stablecoins?
Returns and margins. Retail depends on frictionless refunds and runs thin, and a payment method with no reversal mechanism creates operational work on every return. Categories with instant delivery and rare refunds — hosting, software, travel credit — adopted it instead.
