Payment notes
Flexa's announcement names the asset directly, which is rare for this kind of deployment: customers can pay with "bitcoin, ether, litecoin, and stablecoins such as USD Coin" at all 750-plus Sheetz locations. That makes USDC the coin to bring. Flexa's wider currency table adds DAI, EURC, GUSD and USDP, which a Flexa integration also enables, though whether your wallet app offers them is a separate question. As with every Flexa merchant, Sheetz itself says nothing about this anywhere on its own site.
Refunds
Not documented for digital currency payments. Flexa settles to the merchant in its chosen payout currency, so a refund is unlikely to return as crypto.
Stablecoin refunds are outbound payments a merchant chooses to send, not automatic reversals. There is no chargeback.
Sheetz sits awkwardly between categories, and the awkwardness is the point: it is a petrol station, a convenience store and a made-to-order kitchen in one building. Flexa’s own announcement calls it “a major Mid-Atlantic restaurant and convenience chain”, which is about right — a large share of what people buy there is food someone cooked after they ordered it on a screen.
That makes it the second-best answer in this directory to “can I buy a meal with a stablecoin”, and in one respect a better-evidenced one than the first.
Flexa named the coin
Most gateway deployments describe themselves in the abstract — “digital currency”, “crypto payments” — and leave you to work out what that means. Flexa’s Sheetz announcement does not:

Naming USDC for a specific merchant is a meaningfully stronger claim than pointing at a platform capability, and it is why this record is more solid than Chipotle’s despite covering a quarter as many locations.

The rest of the list, and the one that is missing
Flexa’s currency table adds DAI, EURC, GUSD and USDP to USDC, and a Flexa integration enables all of them. Settlement runs on Ethereum, Solana and Avalanche depending on the asset.
No Tether. Flexa does not support it, so neither does Sheetz. Given that Sheetz’s customer base is ordinary Mid-Atlantic commuters rather than crypto natives, this matters less here than it would elsewhere — but if you turned up specifically to spend USDT, you cannot.
Sheetz has not told anyone either
We checked sheetz.com, its FAQ and its payment page. No mention of crypto, digital currency or Flexa anywhere.
This is now a pattern rather than an oddity. Both Flexa merchants in this directory accept stablecoins at every location and publish nothing about it. It is a reasonable commercial decision — the audience is tiny and the explanation is long — but it means in-store stablecoin acceptance in America is essentially a secret kept between a payment network and the people who already have its app installed.
If you want to check before travelling, open a Flexa-enabled wallet and look for the merchant. That is the only reliable method, and it is not one most people would think to try.

Crypto payment is confirmed, but the exact coin list is not fixed — it can depend on your country, the product, which checkout you reach, or which assets the merchant's payment gateway currently enables.
Re-checked 12 September 2026 to add Base: Flexa's newsroom post of 16 October 2025 announces Base Pay — USDC on Base from the Base app — as a default checkout option across its merchants and names Sheetz as one where a Base account holder can "immediately transact". Flexa's currency table still lists USDC on Ethereum, Avalanche and Solana only, so Base is documented through Base Pay rather than the table. Flexa's own newsroom post of 31 October 2024 states that "all 750+ Sheetz locations can now accept digital asset payments through Flexa" and that customers can pay with "bitcoin, ether, litecoin, and stablecoins such as USD Coin" — naming USDC explicitly for this merchant, which Flexa did not do for Chipotle. The same post describes Sheetz as "a major Mid-Atlantic restaurant and convenience chain". The remaining stablecoins and the networks come from Flexa's published currency table, which states that a Flexa integration enables every supported currency; USDT appears nowhere in it. Status is "may vary" because Flexa documents that a customer's wallet app restricts which currencies are actually offered. We confirmed separately that sheetz.com, its FAQ and its payment page contain no reference to crypto, digital currency or Flexa.
