Sharps Pixley's cryptocurrency page is unusually complete for a traditional dealer. It names the assets — "Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP), USD Coin (USDC), Gemini Dollar (GUSD), Paxos Standard (PAX) and Binance USD (BUSD) for all precious metals" — and the three channels: the online shop, where you "click pay with BitPay" at the payment step; voice broking for larger transactions, where the team sends "an email link for payment or provide[s] a wallet address"; and the St James's Street shop, where "clients can also purchase gold bars and coins using cryptocurrencies" over the counter. For stablecoins it adds: "For Ethereum and USD stable coin deposits, you'll need to use a Web 3.0-enabled Ethereum wallets and browsers, such as Metamask, Coinbase Wallet, Opera Browser, Brave Browser or BitPay." Paxos Standard is the former name of USDP and is recorded as such; Binance USD is no longer issued and is not. Expect BitPay's standard invoice — a locked rate for a short window — whichever channel you use.

Three ways to pay

Online, where the shop’s payment step has a “pay with BitPay” option. By phone, where the voice broking desk finalises a larger trade and then sends a payment link or a wallet address. And in person at 54 St James’s Street, “especially useful for smaller transactions”. Few merchants anywhere document a stablecoin purchase across all three.

The coin list, and its age

USDC, Gemini Dollar and Paxos Standard are named, which is why this record is verified rather than inherited from BitPay. But the page reads as it did in 2017: Paxos Standard has since been renamed USDP, and Binance USD, also listed, stopped being issued in 2023. More importantly the page says stablecoin deposits need “Web 3.0-enabled Ethereum wallets”, and never mentions the Base, Polygon or Solana routes BitPay added later. We record Ethereum, because that is what the merchant says, and note that the BitPay invoice may offer more.

What we could not read

The live site. sharpspixley.com refuses automated requests, so this record rests on the Internet Archive’s January 2026 copy of the merchant’s page, and says so. It is the merchant’s own text; it is not a page we could load today.

The merchant's own cryptocurrency page names USDC, GUSD and PAX (USDP) explicitly, names BitPay as the processor, describes the three channels and states that stablecoin payments need an Ethereum wallet. sharpspixley.com refuses automated requests, so the page was read from the Internet Archive's capture of 23 January 2026 and is cited as archived — merchant documentation retrieved indirectly, flagged as such, as with OffGamers. The page's wording dates from the 2017 launch (it still lists BUSD) and has not been updated to reflect BitPay's later network additions, which is why only Ethereum is recorded even though BitPay's list is wider; the merchant's statement governs. We did not run a checkout and did not visit the shop. The founding date and address are the merchant's own. BitPay's list is cited for the checkout mechanics only.
