StablecoinSpend exists to answer one question properly: where can I actually spend stablecoins?

It is a question with a lot of bad answers on the internet. Lists that were accurate in 2019. Aggregated blog posts naming merchants who quietly stopped years ago. Pages generated at scale that name a coin, a city and a category and contain no information at all.

We are trying to build the version that is worth reading: a directory where every listing states what it is based on and when it was last checked, and where a page that would not be useful does not get published.

What we do

We catalogue businesses, websites, services and platforms that accept stablecoin payments — USDC, USDT, PYUSD and others — and organise them by stablecoin, category, network, country and payment provider.

We also publish guides covering how stablecoin payments work in practice, for people paying and for businesses considering accepting them.

What we do not do

We do not custody cryptocurrency. We do not process payments. We never publish a wallet address for a merchant, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does — payment instructions belong in the merchant’s own checkout and nowhere else.

We do not give investment, tax or legal advice. We do not publish price predictions or yield opportunities. We are a directory of places to spend, not a finance site.

We are not affiliated with any stablecoin issuer, blockchain foundation or payment provider. Not Circle, not Tether, not PayPal, not Ripple, not Sky, not Coinbase. Where we list their products it is because they exist and people need to know about them.

How verification works

Every merchant profile carries a status and a date. A listing marked verified means an editor completed a documented check and recorded what it was based on. A listing marked unverified was compiled from public documentation and has not yet been independently confirmed.

We publish unverified listings visibly labelled as such, and we keep them out of search engine indexes until they clear verification. We would rather show you a lead marked as a lead than pretend to a certainty we do not have.

How we make money

Currently, we do not. The directory is free and free to be listed in.

The intended model is disclosed up front rather than discovered later: paid verified and featured listings, sponsored placements, affiliate links to merchants and payment providers, and newsletter sponsorship. Every one of those is labelled where it appears.

The line we hold is that money can buy placement and prominence, and cannot buy a factual claim. A sponsored merchant appears higher up with a “Sponsored” label; it does not get a verified badge it has not earned, and its coin list is whatever we can support. Why we withhold pages

Directories rot in a predictable way: they generate every combination of coin, category, country and network, publish thousands of near-empty pages, and become useless to read and worthless to search engines.

We have built the opposite constraint into the site. A hub page must clear a minimum number of qualifying merchants and a minimum amount of hand-written prose before it is allowed into the index. Pages that do not clear it still render — you can read them, and so can we — but they carry noindex and stay out of the sitemap until they earn their place.

That is a deliberate choice to grow slower and be worth reading.
