Payment notes

Verified September 2026. Alza routes crypto checkout to the Confirmo gateway, where two stablecoins are offered alongside BTC, Lightning, LTC, ETH, TRX and SOL. The network is fixed per asset and not selectable: USDT settles on Tron, USDC on Ethereum. Sending either token on any other chain will not be credited. Payment is completed by scanning the gateway QR code or using the pay button from a mobile wallet.

Refunds

Returns follow Alza's standard policy and applicable EU consumer protection rules. Confirm the refund route for crypto payments.

Stablecoin refunds are outbound payments a merchant chooses to send, not automatic reversals. There is no chargeback.

Alza is one of the largest online retailers in Central Europe and one of the few genuinely large European retailers accepting crypto directly.

Scale is what makes this notable

European direct retail acceptance is rare. A retailer of this size accepting crypto is a meaningfully different data point from a specialist store serving crypto customers.

Multiple storefronts

The company operates national storefronts across several countries, and availability of the crypto option may differ between them. Check on the storefront you are actually buying from.

EU consumer protection

Purchases from an EU retailer carry statutory consumer rights regardless of payment method — a genuine advantage over buying from a jurisdiction with weaker protections. Those rights govern the return; the mechanism for getting money back to a wallet is a separate operational question worth asking about.

Verification

An editor confirmed these payment options against the sources listed below.

Alza's own payment help page documents the Confirmo gateway and names USDT and USDC as the two stablecoins offered, each pinned to a single network — USDT on Tron, USDC on Ethereum. The seed record's Polygon and Base claims were wrong and have been removed.
