Payment notes

Nutrient Farm says nothing about cryptocurrency anywhere in its copy, which makes this a record built entirely on configuration rather than on a claim. The store runs on Shopify and its rendered payment-method list includes an entry titled "USDC" alongside Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Amazon. Shopify builds that list from the payment types a store has actually enabled, so the option exists whether or not the farm advertises it. Networks are Shopify's documented five, and Shopify sponsors the gas, so no network fee lands on you. Do not expect this at the farm store. Shopify's USDC integration is an online checkout; the physical shop is a separate matter and there is no evidence of a till-side option.

Almost everything in the food category is a coffee bag, a restaurant till or a gift card standing in for a supermarket. Nutrient Farm is closer to an actual grocery order: beef, vegetables, fruit, herbs, dairy, pantry goods, shipped nationwide or collected locally.

That makes it one of the few places in this directory where a stablecoin buys food rather than buying a card that buys food. The distinction matters, because the gift card route costs you a margin you cannot see — we go through that here.

The evidence is thinner than usual, and we would rather say so

Nutrient Farm does not mention cryptocurrency anywhere. No FAQ entry, no announcement, no payment page. This record rests on the store’s Shopify payment configuration listing USDC among its enabled methods.

We think that is good evidence — it is generated from live settings rather than written as marketing, and we verified it distinguishes stores that have switched USDC on from stores that have not. But it is not the same as a merchant telling you. Read it as the option is enabled, not as a farm that has thought about how to serve crypto customers. If the option is missing at checkout for your order or your state, that would not contradict anything the merchant has published, because the merchant has published nothing.

This is a common shape in the dataset rather than an oddity: close to half of the merchants that accept stablecoins never document a network, which is the single most-cited finding in our research.

What it costs

USDC on Base, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon or Arbitrum, with Shopify sponsoring the gas — so no network fee on your side. On a grocery order that is the difference between this being sensible and being silly.

Confirmed from the store's own configuration and nothing else, which is worth stating plainly. Nutrient Farm publishes no prose about crypto acceptance — no FAQ entry, no payment page, no announcement. What it does publish is a Shopify payment-method list containing `<title id="pi-usdc">USDC</title>` among its enabled payment types, rendered by Shopify from the store's live settings. We are treating that as first-party evidence because it is generated from configuration rather than written as marketing, and because we checked that it discriminates: Traverse Bay Farms, a Shopify store surfaced by the same third-party directory, renders the same icon family with no USDC entry, and three further candidates from that directory showed no crypto signal at all. The signal distinguishes stores that have enabled USDC from stores that have not. It is nonetheless weaker than a merchant statement, and a reader should treat it as "the option is switched on" rather than "the merchant has thought about crypto customers". Networks, gas sponsorship and the dispute limitation are Shopify's documented behaviour. Business details — Colorado, biodynamic, nationwide shipping, local delivery, pick-up and a physical store — come from the farm's own site.
