Hotel bookings paid in stablecoins almost always run through an online travel agency rather than the property itself. The agency holds the inventory, quotes a fiat price, and accepts USDC or USDT through a crypto gateway; the hotel is paid in local currency and often never knows how the guest settled. That structure is why the coverage here is broad — an agency with a stablecoin checkout effectively brings its whole accommodation catalogue with it — and why the practical questions are about the agency's booking and refund terms rather than the hotel's.

Booking a hotel with stablecoins is, in practice, a question about the booking platform rather than the property. An online travel agency with a crypto checkout gives you access to its entire accommodation inventory — tens of thousands of properties in most cases — because the payment sits at the agency layer.
That has one consequence worth planning around. Because the agency is the merchant of record, its cancellation and refund terms govern, not the hotel’s. A property advertising free cancellation until 48 hours before arrival may still be booked through an agency rate class that is non-refundable. Read the rate conditions on the booking page, and read the agency’s crypto refund policy separately, because the two are often documented in different places.
Stablecoin bookings are prepaid by definition — there is no way to place a hold on a stablecoin balance the way a card authorisation works. If the property requires a card at check-in for incidentals or a security deposit, you will still need one. This catches people out on trips otherwise planned entirely around crypto payments.
