Payment notes
The record rests on one document: the group's own news release of March 2021, still published on kesslercollection.com, announcing a BitPay partnership across "all 8 corporate owned hotels". The process it describes is invoice-based — "in lieu of cash or credit cards, each property will send an email invoice allowing all guests to pay from their crypto wallet through BitPay" — and the asset list is explicit: "BTC, BCH, ETH, DOGE, and stable coins USDC, BUSD, GUSD, and PAX." The group's chairman is quoted; BitPay's chief commercial officer is quoted. What we could not find is anything more recent: the /cryptocurrency/ page linked from older coverage is gone, and the reservation pages say nothing. A BitPay email invoice would carry BitPay's current menu — wider than the 2021 list — and a fifteen-minute rate lock. Treat this as a hotel group that said yes in 2021 and has not said no; email the property you want to book and ask for the invoice, and expect to be told whether the arrangement still stands.

The Kessler Collection made news in 2021 as the first US hotel group to take crypto, and its own release named the stablecoins. Five years on, that release is still the only thing it says.
What was announced
BitPay, at all eight corporate-owned hotels, by email invoice from the property — “in lieu of cash or credit cards” — payable “in BTC, BCH, ETH, DOGE, and stable coins USDC, BUSD, GUSD, and PAX”. The chairman called it “one of the most innovative concepts in the hospitality industry right now”. It is a clear, first-party statement and it is why the group is listed.
What has changed
The dedicated cryptocurrency page that older articles link to now returns “page not found”. The booking engine shows cards. BUSD, one of the four stablecoins named, stopped being issued in 2023. None of that is evidence the arrangement ended — an invoice-by-email process would never appear in a booking engine — but none of it is evidence it continues, either. The badge says “may vary” and the record says why.
What to do
Email the hotel you want, before booking, and ask for a BitPay invoice. If one arrives, it will carry BitPay’s current menu, which includes USDC on several networks, and a fifteen-minute rate lock. If it does not, tell us and we will update the record.

Crypto payment is confirmed, but the exact coin list is not fixed — it can depend on your country, the product, which checkout you reach, or which assets the merchant's payment gateway currently enables.
The merchant's own 2021 announcement, on its own domain, names USDC, GUSD and PAX (now USDP) and BitPay, and describes the email-invoice process. That is the merchant speaking, and it is why the record exists. The status is "may vary" rather than verified because the evidence is an announcement rather than a payment page, because it is five years old, because the group's dedicated crypto page has since been removed, and because we could not find any current page confirming the option — a hotel group's booking engine would not show an email-invoice route in any case, so its silence is weak evidence either way. We did not contact the properties. BUSD is excluded as no longer issued; BitPay's list is cited for mechanics only and not used to widen the coin list beyond what the group named. Hotel count is the "8 corporate owned hotels" figure from the release.
