Payment notes

We are listing Trip.com because people search for it, and the honest answer is more useful than the headlines. Numerous outlets reported in October 2025 that Trip.com had enabled USDT and USDC for prepaid hotel and flight bookings through Triple-A, across Ethereum, Tron, Polygon, Solana, Arbitrum and TON, with the option surfaced by IP address and absent in mainland China and Hong Kong. We could not corroborate any of that against Trip.com's own material. Its published payment FAQ lists cards, UnionPay, WeChat Pay, Naver Pay and Apple Pay, and no cryptocurrency of any kind. So: do not travel to this checkout expecting a stablecoin option, and do not assume the reporting is wrong either — a quiet regional pilot would look exactly like this. We claim no coins and no networks until Trip.com documents them.

Trip.com is one of the largest travel booking platforms in the world — the international arm of the group that owns Ctrip, Skyscanner and Trip.com itself. If it accepts stablecoins at scale, that is genuinely significant for anyone holding USDC or USDT and wanting to spend it on something large.

This page exists to tell you what we could and could not establish, because the gap between the two is unusually wide.

What was reported

In October 2025 a wave of coverage said Trip.com had switched on stablecoin payments. The consistent details across outlets were:

  • USDT and USDC accepted, for prepaid hotel and flight bookings
  • Processed by Triple-A, a Singapore-licensed payment institution
  • Wallets supported across Ethereum, Tron, Polygon, Solana, Arbitrum One and TON
  • Availability determined by IP address, absent in mainland China and reportedly in Hong Kong
  • Hotel bookings completable with just a name and email

The reporting was broad and internally consistent, which is some evidence in itself. Several outlets also cited savings figures for users in Vietnam.

What we could not confirm

Any of it, from Trip.com.

Trip.com’s published payment FAQ lists Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Amex, UnionPay, WeChat Pay, Naver Pay, Apple Pay and its own stored-value products. No cryptocurrency. No stablecoin. No mention of Triple-A.

We could not locate a first-party announcement from Trip.com, and we could not locate one from Triple-A either — the coverage traces back to reporting rather than to a press release from either party.

Why the listing says nothing rather than something

Our rule is that an acceptance claim needs the merchant, its processor, or a checkout test behind it. A cluster of news articles, however consistent, is none of those. The verification methodology explains why we hold that line: a directory that promotes reported acceptance to confirmed acceptance is a directory that will eventually send someone to a checkout that does not exist.

So the coin and network fields on this record are empty. Not because we think the reporting is wrong — a limited regional pilot surfaced by IP address is precisely the kind of thing that would never reach a global FAQ page — but because we have not seen it ourselves and cannot tell you it will be there.

If you want to try

Book a prepaid rate rather than pay-at-property, and check the payment step from the country you are actually in. If a stablecoin option appears, we would genuinely like to know: tell us, ideally with a screenshot, and we will re-verify and update this record with the detail.

In the meantime, Travala is the travel platform in this directory with documented, first-party stablecoin acceptance, and Alternative Airlines covers flights specifically.

Verification

Payment availability may vary Reviewed September 2026

Crypto payment is confirmed, but the exact coin list is not fixed — it can depend on your country, the product, which checkout you reach, or which assets the merchant's payment gateway currently enables.

This record deliberately claims no stablecoins. Multiple independent outlets reported in October 2025 that Trip.com had launched stablecoin payments supporting USDT and USDC via the Singapore-licensed processor Triple-A, spanning Ethereum, Tron, Polygon, Solana, Arbitrum One and TON, restricted by region and limited to prepaid bookings. We could not find that reflected on any Trip.com domain: the company's published payment FAQ enumerates card and regional wallet options only, with no cryptocurrency. Neither Trip.com nor Triple-A appears to have published a first-party announcement we can cite. Under our sourcing rules an independent report cannot carry an acceptance claim on its own, so the status is "may vary", the coin and network fields are empty, and this note carries the detail instead.
