Coinbase Commerce is the gateway you are most likely to meet behind a USDC checkout on a North American or European merchant site.
What it does well
USDC support is the point. Coinbase co-founded the asset, operates the Base network where much USDC payment volume now settles, and has built the checkout around that. If a merchant’s priority is accepting USDC cleanly on a cheap network, this is the path of least resistance.
The ecommerce plugins are maintained rather than abandoned, which sounds like a low bar and is not — several competing gateways have Shopify and WooCommerce integrations that have not been updated in years.
Where it is not the answer
Merchants wanting to accept a long tail of assets will find the list short. Gateways built around breadth support hundreds of coins; this one supports the ones most people actually pay with.
Country availability is also tied to Coinbase’s own eligibility rules, which means a merchant in a market Coinbase does not serve cannot use it regardless of how good the product is.
