Porkbun is the registrar people recommend when someone asks where to buy a domain without being upsold. Flat pricing, WHOIS privacy and SSL included rather than billed as extras, and a support team that answers. It also takes USDC, and says so in one unambiguous sentence.

One coin, one processor, no hedging

We accept USDC cryptocurrency payments via Coinbase Business.

That is the entire crypto section of Porkbun’s payment options page, and it is better documentation than most of this directory manages. Compare Namecheap or HostSailor, which name a gateway and let its asset list stand in for an answer.

Crypto is also a real checkout option here rather than an account top-up. That distinction matters more at registrars than anywhere else: the account-credit model used by much of this category makes credit non-refundable and breaks auto-renewal. Porkbun’s crypto pays for the registration directly.

Coinbase Business, and why that is worth noticing

Coinbase Business is the successor to Coinbase Commerce, and Coinbase has been withdrawing Commerce from merchants outside the United States and Singapore. Porkbun is in Portland, Oregon, so it sits inside the surviving footprint.

That is not an accident of this listing — it is the shape of the market. A US merchant can still build on Coinbase; a European one has been moving to CoinGate or Stripe, and in the process losing USDT to MiCA. Which stablecoin you can spend increasingly depends on where the merchant is incorporated rather than on what you hold.

The Stripe post we did not record

Porkbun’s own account announced a second crypto route through Stripe, supporting USDC on Ethereum, Solana and Polygon, and USDP on Ethereum and Solana.

That is merchant-published and specific, and we still have not recorded USDP or those networks — because the live payment page names only Coinbase Business and only USDC. When a merchant’s announcement and its current documentation disagree, the documentation is what a customer will actually meet at checkout. If Porkbun adds the Stripe route to that page, USDP goes on this record the same day.

What to check before paying

The chain. Neither document names one, so the Coinbase checkout decides, and a wrong-network USDC transfer is unrecoverable regardless of how good the registrar is.

And remember that domain registrations are generally non-refundable once the registry has been paid — that is a registry rule rather than a Porkbun one, and it applies whichever way you pay. It simply matters more when the payment itself cannot be reversed either.
