A dash means we found no evidence of support, not that support is impossible. Coin availability at checkout can differ by country and product.
Which network each coin is accepted on, exactly as Vast.ai documents it. A coin and a network appearing in the same record does not by itself mean the two go together.
Pay on the cheapest network offered — Vast.ai receives the same amount either way, so the fee comes out of your side. Our network comparison covers which to pick.
Vast's billing documentation is explicit about the model: "Vast requires pre-payment of credits for GPU rentals", bought one-off with the add-credit button, and "we accept credit card payments through Stripe and crypto payments through BitPay and Crypto.com". Autobilling — topping up automatically when the balance runs low — is card-only, so a crypto user is buying blocks of credit by hand. The assets and networks are whatever BitPay's checkout offers; at the time of writing that is USDC, USDT, DAI, PYUSD, USDP, GUSD and EURC on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon and Solana. Crypto.com Pay is also offered and has its own asset list, which we have not folded in. The same page notes that Coinbase Commerce is "legacy" and that credits bought through it cannot be refunded because that processor does not support refunds. Top-ups for compute are usually small and frequent, which is the case for choosing Base or Polygon at the BitPay invoice rather than Ethereum mainnet.
Documented. "After spending credits, there are absolutely no refunds." Unspent credits can usually be refunded on request through the website chat. Credits bought through the legacy Coinbase Commerce route cannot be refunded at all.
Stablecoin refunds are outbound payments a merchant chooses to send, not automatic reversals. There is no chargeback.
Vast.ai is the kind of merchant stablecoin payment was built for: a metered, prepaid, global service sold to technical customers who already hold a wallet.
You buy credit, and the credit drains per second while an instance runs. The billing page says credit can be bought by card through Stripe or “crypto payments through BitPay and Crypto.com”. Automatic top-ups are card-only, so paying in crypto means coming back to buy more by hand — fine for a training run, tedious for an always-on instance.
Vast names no coins. BitPay’s checkout does that, and at the time of writing it offers USDC, USDT, DAI, PYUSD, USDP, GUSD and EURC on six networks. Crypto.com Pay is the other door, with its own list we have not imported.
The documentation is unusually direct. Spent credit is gone: “absolutely no refunds”. Unspent credit can usually be refunded by asking in chat. And credit bought through the old Coinbase Commerce route — now marked legacy — cannot be refunded at all, because that processor did not support it. Buy what you will use.
Compute top-ups are typically tens of dollars, repeated. On Ethereum mainnet each one carries a gas fee that can be a visible percentage of the top-up; on Base it is a fraction of a cent. BitPay lets you choose at the invoice. OpenRouter and NanoGPT are the same shape of purchase and the same advice applies.
The AI tools category has the inference and API merchants; cloud hosting has the servers. The BitPay profile carries the full list.
Crypto payment is confirmed, but the exact coin list is not fixed — it can depend on your country, the product, which checkout you reach, or which assets the merchant's payment gateway currently enables.
Vast.ai's own billing documentation names BitPay and Crypto.com as the crypto payment routes, in two places, and describes the prepaid-credit model, the card-only autobilling, and the refund rules. It names no coins, which is why the status is "may vary": the stablecoin and network list above is BitPay's published list, cited as the second source. We did not run a live top-up. Crypto.com Pay is recorded as an additional provider without importing its asset list, because the BitPay route already establishes acceptance and we prefer one documented list to two. The Coinbase Commerce "legacy" wording is noted because it explains why older third-party listings describe Vast as a Coinbase Commerce merchant.
Payment availability can change without notice. Always confirm at Vast.ai’s own checkout before paying. Spotted something wrong?

Added after confirming BitPay and Crypto.com as crypto top-up routes in Vast.ai's own billing documentation. Coin list is BitPay's.

Double opt-in. Nothing is sent until you confirm, and every email links to manage or unfollow.
Payment options change without notice. If Vast.ai’s checkout no longer matches what is on this page, tell us — an editor re-verifies against the merchant’s own documentation before anything changes here.
Reports go to a review queue. They never change a listing directly.
