Payment notes

Cherry Servers is one of the few hosts that names its stablecoins instead of pointing at a gateway list, and one of the very few that publicly explains a coin being removed. USDT is gone — CoinGate stopped processing it for EU merchants under MiCA, and Cherry Servers enforced a hard stop on 1 April 2025. If you hold USDT, you will need to swap before paying. USDC is the intended replacement and is accepted across six networks, so check which one your wallet is on before sending; Arbitrum or Polygon will cost you far less in fees than Ethereum mainnet for a server invoice.

Refunds

Cherry Servers bills prepaid account credit rather than charging per invoice, so an overpayment generally stays as credit. Confirm the handling of a crypto refund with support before paying if that matters to you.

Stablecoin refunds are outbound payments a merchant chooses to send, not automatic reversals. There is no chargeback.

Cherry Servers sells single-tenant hardware — bare-metal servers you rent whole, plus a cloud layer on top of it — from data centres in Lithuania, the Netherlands, the United States and Singapore. The customer is usually someone who has outgrown a VPS and wants predictable performance without signing an enterprise cloud agreement.

For our purposes the interesting thing is not the hardware. It is that Cherry Servers publishes what it accepts, and publishes what it stopped accepting.

The USDT removal is the useful part of this record

Most merchant listings in this directory tell you what a company takes today. Cherry Servers is one of the few that lets you see a coin being dropped and understand why.

In early 2025 CoinGate, Cherry Servers’ long-standing crypto processor, stopped handling Tether for merchants inside the EU. The Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation requires stablecoin issuers serving EU customers to hold an e-money authorisation, and Tether did not obtain one. Exchanges and processors across the bloc delisted USDT for European users through late 2024 and early 2025. Cherry Servers set a hard stop of 1 April 2025 and published a migration note pointing customers at USDC.

If you are holding USDT and expecting to pay a European hosting bill with it, this is the shape of the problem you will keep running into. It is not specific to Cherry Servers, and it is worth reading the Cherry Servers announcement directly — it is clearer than most coverage of the regulation.

Which network to send on

USDC is accepted across Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Optimism and Polygon. The invoice amount is identical on all of them, so the network fee is money you are handing to validators rather than to Cherry Servers. For a server bill of a few tens or hundreds of dollars, paying on Ethereum mainnet can cost several dollars in gas; the same payment on Arbitrum or Polygon typically costs a fraction of a cent. Our network comparison goes through the tradeoffs, but for this merchant the answer is simple: use a layer 2 unless you have a specific reason not to.

DAI is also accepted, which is unusual — most hosts that take stablecoins stop at USDC and USDT. If you hold DAI and would rather not swap, that is a genuine convenience here.

What this does not cover

Crypto payments top up account credit. They are not a way to put a recurring server on autopay, so you will be doing this manually each billing cycle. If that is a nuisance, a card on file is the better answer, and Cherry Servers supports that too.

Verification

Verified Verified September 2026

An editor confirmed these payment options against the sources listed below.

Cherry Servers' own billing documentation names the accepted assets, which include USD Coin (USDC) and Dai (DAI) alongside a list of non-stablecoin crypto, and names CoinGate and BVNK as the two processors. A separate post on the company's own blog documents the removal of USDT and the reason for it. USDC network coverage is taken from that post: Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon and Solana; we list Solana only where the billing documentation also mentions it, and it does not, so Solana is excluded here pending a clearer statement.
