SoftwareKeep runs on Shopify and has USDC switched on: the store's own payment-method list renders USDC next to Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, PayPal, Shop Pay, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon and ACH. Shopify builds that list from the payment types a store has actually enabled, so it is a statement of configuration rather than marketing. The networks come from Shopify's own documentation — Base, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon and Arbitrum — and Shopify sponsors the gas, so you are not paying a network fee on top. Base is the sensible default. Two Shopify limitations carry through to this merchant and are worth knowing before you pay. Subscriptions cannot be bought with USDC at all, so anything billed recurringly needs a card. And Shopify states that USDC orders are not subject to customer disputes, which means the chargeback you would have had on a card is gone. SoftwareKeep sells software licences — Office, Windows, antivirus, disk utilities — as instant digital downloads. It is one of the few places in this directory where you can buy mainstream third-party software with a stablecoin rather than a key of uncertain provenance.

What is actually accepted

USDC, and nothing else. The store runs on Shopify Payments, and Shopify’s USDC integration supports exactly one stablecoin.

The five networks come from Shopify: Base, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon and Arbitrum. Shopify sponsors the gas, so unlike almost every other merchant here you are not paying a network fee on top of the purchase. Base is the sensible default and there is no reason to reach for mainnet.

The two limits that come from Shopify, not from SoftwareKeep

Subscriptions cannot be paid in USDC. Shopify does not support it for recurring billing. If you are buying something billed annually, the crypto option will not carry it and you will need a card.

There are no chargebacks. Shopify documents that USDC orders are not subject to customer disputes. For a merchant that is a benefit; for you it removes the backstop you would have had. This is the standard trade in stablecoin payments and we cover it in stablecoin payments vs credit cards.

The refund policy is unusually good

SoftwareKeep publishes a 180-day guarantee, and refunds are issued “in the form of the original method of payment” — meaning a USDC purchase comes back as USDC.

There is no crypto carve-out, which is the point worth dwelling on. PureVPN excludes crypto from its money-back guarantee; SEAGM states there are no refund options on cryptocurrency payments at all. SoftwareKeep draws no such line. Combined with the missing chargeback, this matters more than it would elsewhere: the merchant’s own promise is the only recourse you have, so a generous and unqualified one is worth something real.

The ordinary exclusion applies — a licence key you have already activated is not returnable, which is true of every digital-goods seller.

Buying software keys: the general caution

This category has a reputation problem, and it is worth being clear about where the risk sits. Grey market key resellers exist in volume, and a cheap OEM key of unclear origin can be deactivated later by the publisher. That risk is about provenance, not about how you paid.

SoftwareKeep publishes a US address, a phone number, a support email, terms, a privacy policy and a returns process — the things we could not find at all when we declined to list an anonymous travel site. That is the check worth doing yourself before paying any software reseller in an irreversible asset: can you find out who the company is, and what happens if the key does not work?

Confirmed from the merchant's own storefront. SoftwareKeep is a Shopify store, and its rendered payment-method list contains an entry titled "USDC" alongside Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, PayPal, Shop Pay, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon and ACH Direct Debit. Shopify generates that list from the payment types the merchant has enabled, so it reflects live store configuration. We treated the signal as evidence only after testing that it discriminates: Traverse Bay Farms, also a Shopify store, renders the same icon set without a USDC entry, and several other candidate stores render none at all. The absence is as visible as the presence. Networks, the gas-sponsorship arrangement, the subscription restriction and the absence of customer disputes come from Shopify's own USDC documentation rather than from SoftwareKeep, and are recorded as provider behaviour. The refund terms are the merchant's, quoted from its shipping and returns page. SoftwareKeep publishes a US address at Point Roberts, Washington, with a phone number and support email; it is not an anonymous storefront.
