Gift card platforms are the most flexible way to spend stablecoins, because they turn a balance into spending power at retailers that do not accept crypto at all. You pay the platform in USDC or USDT and receive a code for a supermarket, an airline, a games store or a mobile carrier, usually within seconds. That is also the thing to be clear about: the retailer is not accepting stablecoins — the platform is, and it is an intermediary. The trade-off is a spread that varies by brand and country, and region-locked codes that cannot be refunded. Gift cards are the universal adapter of stablecoin spending. They turn a balance you hold on-chain into credit at retailers who have never heard of USDC and never intend to.
How the platforms make money
Understanding the business model tells you what to look for. A gift card platform buys card inventory at a discount to face value — sometimes directly from the brand, sometimes through a distributor — and sells it to you at or near face value. The margin is the spread. On high-volume brands with good distribution terms, that spread is small and the platform may even sell below face. On thinner inventory, or in countries where the platform has weaker relationships, it can be several per cent.
This means the same $100 card can cost meaningfully different amounts on two platforms. If you buy gift cards regularly, comparing two or three platforms for your usual brands is worth the ten minutes it takes once.
Delivery and redemption
Codes are typically delivered instantly by email or in-account once the transfer confirms. A few brands and larger denominations trigger a manual review that can take minutes to hours. Region-locked cards are the most common source of complaints — a card bought for the wrong regional storefront frequently cannot be redeemed and frequently cannot be refunded, so check the region before you buy.
Where the model genuinely shines
Mobile top-ups and utility payments are the underrated use. In several markets, a stablecoin balance plus a top-up platform is a faster and cheaper route to paying a phone bill than any local alternative available to someone without a domestic bank account. That is a real payments use case, not a novelty.
The intermediary, stated plainly
The comparison table marks each gift-card platform and game-key marketplace as “via an intermediary”, because that is what a reseller is. The distinction matters for two reasons: a retailer that only appears as a brand on these platforms is not a stablecoin merchant and is not listed as one, and any dispute about a code is with the platform, under its crypto refund terms, not with the brand.
What we checked, and when
In September 2026 we re-read the payment pages for Bitrefill, Coinsbee, Bidali and CoinCards. Bitrefill and Bidali matched their records exactly; Coinsbee and CoinCards were narrowed to the networks their pages name. No purchase was made to verify a checkout.

Are gift cards a good way to spend stablecoins?
They are the most flexible way, because they reach retailers with no crypto acceptance of their own. They are rarely the cheapest — most platforms take a margin, and some brands carry a noticeable spread. Compare the effective rate against the card's face value before buying, and check whether the same brand is cheaper on another platform.
Do gift card platforms require identity verification?
It varies by platform and purchase size. Several allow small purchases with only an email address; most introduce verification above a threshold, or for certain brands and regions. Requirements are noted on each merchant profile.
Can I get a refund on a gift card bought with stablecoins?
Usually not once the code has been revealed — this is standard across the gift card industry and not specific to crypto. If a code fails to redeem, platforms generally do replace or refund it, but you need to raise it quickly and keep the order reference.
Which platform documents its networks properly?
Bitrefill and Bidali publish full per-coin network lists on their own pages (USDT on Arbitrum, BSC, Ethereum, Polygon and Tron; USDC on Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum, Polygon and Solana at Bitrefill; twenty networks at Bidali). Coinsbee names Tron for USDT and nothing else; CoinCards lists USDC and USDT as payable assets with no network attributed. The table reflects exactly that, and "pairing not documented" is the honest state for the last two.
Does buying a gift card make the retailer a stablecoin merchant?
No. The platform is the merchant. This directory lists the platforms, not the brands in their catalogues, and a search for a retailer that only appears as a gift-card brand will not find it here — deliberately.
