Euros in a European bank account

A merchant in the EU accepting stablecoins through a US-centric gateway faces a settlement problem: the money arrives as dollars, or as a dollar stablecoin, and getting it into a euro bank account costs a conversion.

CoinGate settles in euros to a European bank. For a business whose costs, salaries and taxes are all denominated in euros, that removes a genuine friction rather than a theoretical one.

EURC support matters here for the same reason

A euro-priced merchant accepting a euro stablecoin has no conversion anywhere in the chain. That is the cleanest possible version of this transaction and it is available today for merchants who set it up.

Trade-offs

Custodial, with the verification requirements that implies. The fee sits above the cheapest non-custodial options, which is the normal price of fiat settlement and a compliance department.

For payers

Straightforward hosted checkout with a broad coin list and cheap networks available. European merchants using it will often price in euros, in which case paying with EURC saves you a conversion too.
