Payment notes

Verified September 2026. PIA accepts crypto through BitPay, selectable under "see all payment methods" at checkout. BitPay's own merchant page for PIA names USDC explicitly. The wider set BitPay supports — DAI, USDP, GUSD and EURC among them — may also appear, but PIA does not publish its own list, so treat USDC as the one dependable option and confirm anything else at checkout. Crypto buys a prepaid fixed term that lapses rather than renewing.

Refunds

A money-back window is published; confirm how refunds are routed for crypto payments.

Stablecoin refunds are outbound payments a merchant chooses to send, not automatic reversals. There is no chargeback.

Private Internet Access has open-source clients and a no-logs position that has been tested in actual legal proceedings rather than only in marketing copy.

Evidence over claims

Every VPN says it keeps no logs. A small number have had that claim tested by a court order they could not comply with because the data did not exist. That is a different category of evidence, and it is the sort of thing worth weighing far above whether a provider takes USDC.

Open-source clients are the other substantive signal here — the code doing the protecting can be read.

Payment

Prepaid, gateway-based, manual renewal. Standard.

Verification

Payment availability may vary Verified September 2026

Crypto payment is confirmed, but the exact coin list is not fixed — it can depend on your country, the product, which checkout you reach, or which assets the merchant's payment gateway currently enables.

BitPay's merchant directory entry for Private Internet Access confirms crypto checkout and names BTC, BCH, ETH and USDC. PIA's own payment pages advertise only card and PayPal and do not enumerate crypto assets, so the full stablecoin set is gateway-determined and can change without notice on PIA's side. We claim only USDC, on the processor's own evidence.
