The pricing page's FAQ answers "What payment methods can I use to buy NymVPN?" with an unusually long list: "Bitcoin (BTC), ADA, Lightning Network (BTC-LN), Ethereum (ETH) tokens, Binance (BNB) tokens, Liquid Bitcoin (L-BTC), Liquid Tether (L-USDT), Litecoin (LTC), Litecoin MWEB (LTC-MWEB), Monero (XMR), $NYM, Tether (USDT on TRON), Zcash (ZEC)", then cards via Stripe, in-app Apple and Google Pay, GNU Taler and cash, adding that "additional payment methods are added regularly". Two things to notice. Tether is named with its network — TRC-20 — which is the cheapest way to move USDT and the detail most merchants leave out. And "Ethereum (ETH) tokens" and "Binance (BNB) tokens" are not the same as naming USDT or USDC on those chains; we do not read a stablecoin into them. The FAQ says payments may be visible on public blockchains but, through the zk-nym credential system, cannot be linked to your use of the VPN. We did not run a live checkout, and the processor presenting the crypto invoice is not stated.

Refunds

NymVPN is the rare VPN whose payment list reads like it was written by someone who holds the coins. It names the network for Tether, offers Monero, Zcash, Lightning, GNU Taler and cash alongside, and explains how the payment is decoupled from your account. For a stablecoin holder the useful part is short: USDT, on Tron.

What the merchant says

“Tether (USDT on TRON)” appears in the pricing FAQ’s list of accepted cryptocurrencies, with “Liquid Tether (L-USDT)” beside it. TRC-20 is the cheapest way to move Tether and the network most Tether already sits on, so this is the pairing most people would want. What is not there is USDC, or Tether on Ethereum, Solana or anything else. “Ethereum (ETH) tokens” is on the list, and we do not read a stablecoin into that phrase; if the checkout offers USDT as an ERC-20 token, that is the checkout’s statement, not the FAQ’s.

Subscription mechanics

Plans auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. A USDT payment cannot be charged again, so in practice a crypto-paid plan needs a manual renewal — the same pattern as every VPN in this directory. Free trials cannot be started with crypto at all. Refunds are pro-rata rather than a fixed money-back window, which is more generous in one direction and less predictable in the other; how a USDT refund travels back is not described.

Privacy

The FAQ is careful: a payment “may be visible in your own financial history or on public blockchains”, and it is the zk-nym credential rather than the payment method that keeps your use of the VPN unlinkable from it. That is the honest framing, and the VPN hub says the same about stablecoin payments generally.

hide.me takes USDT and USDC on Ethereum only, the mirror image of this record. cryptostorm reaches stablecoins through BitPay and NOWPayments rather than naming them. The Tron hub covers bandwidth and energy, which is what a TRC-20 transfer costs instead of gas.

An editor confirmed these payment options against the sources listed below.

NymVPN's own pricing page names "Tether (USDT on TRON)" in its list of accepted payment methods, which is merchant documentation naming coin and network and carries a verified status without a live payment, which we did not make. Liquid Tether is named too but the Liquid network is outside this directory's enum, so it appears in the restrictions rather than the structured fields. No USDC or other dollar stablecoin is named. The terms of use identify the operator as Nym Technologies SA, place Numa-Droz 2, Neuchâtel, Switzerland, governed by Swiss law, which is why the country is CH. Refund terms are from the same pricing FAQ. The crypto payment processor is not named anywhere we read and none is asserted; "Ethereum (ETH) tokens" is not treated as evidence of any specific stablecoin.
