Payment notes
3DNS's own five-step registration guide describes the checkout: after adding a domain to the cart, "you can purchase with a credit card, ETH, or with USDC on Optimism", with the note that a card purchase places a 30-day transfer restriction on the domain. The guide opens by telling you to hold "a few dollars in ETH in your wallet on the Optimism network to cover gas costs" and to sign in by connecting a wallet and switching to Optimism. The pricing page lists registry prices ($8.75 for .com, $2.59 for .xyz, $38.79 for .io, per year) plus "$6 tokenization fee", and advertises "Pay with any token from any chain — or pay with a card"; the docs index has a "Bridge and Pay" guide, which is how tokens on other chains reach the Optimism checkout, and we treat it as a swap route rather than acceptance. No processor is named; the payment is to the merchant's own contracts. For a stablecoin holder the practical instruction is simple: USDC on Optimism, a few cents of ETH there for gas, and a wallet you will not lose.

Stablecoin refunds are outbound payments a merchant chooses to send, not automatic reversals. There is no chargeback.
3DNS is the one merchant in this directory that names Optimism as its stablecoin network, and it does so for a product most people would not expect to find onchain at all: a .com.
How it works
3DNS registers the domain through an ICANN-accredited partner, then issues it to your wallet as a token on Optimism. You manage DNS records from the wallet, transfer the domain in a transaction, and pay a flat $6 a year for the tokenisation on top of the registry price. The registration guide is explicit about the checkout: card, ETH, or USDC on Optimism — and, if you use the card, a 30-day transfer lock.
What “any token from any chain” means
The pricing page’s promise is a bridge-and-pay feature: your USDC on Base or Arbitrum is swapped across to settle on Optimism. That is convenient, and it is not the same as 3DNS accepting USDC on those chains, so the record lists Optimism alone. Arrive with USDC there and a few cents of ETH for gas and the purchase is a single transaction.
The custody trade
A tokenised domain is only as safe as the wallet holding it. There is no account recovery of the kind a conventional registrar offers; the multisig support 3DNS advertises is the answer for a name that matters. The domains category discusses the difference between this and the funded-account model most registrars use.

The merchant's own documentation names the coin and the network in one sentence — "credit card, ETH, or USDC on Optimism" — and the pricing and homepage pages supply the ICANN-partner model and fees. That is merchant documentation naming coin and network, sufficient for a verified status without a live registration, which we did not make. "Pay with any token from any chain" is recorded as a bridge feature, not as additional networks. The operating company and its location are not stated on the pages we read and none is asserted. The documentation's wording and screenshots predate the site's current design and the checkout may offer more than the guide lists; the record follows the guide.

- The domain is a token you control from your wallet. Lose the wallet and you lose the domain in a way a conventional registrar account does not allow.
