IPRoyal sells proxy access — residential IPs sourced from a consented peer network, plus datacentre, mobile and ISP pools. The buyers are scraping operations, ad-verification firms, sneaker and ticket resellers, and market-research teams that need requests to come from many places at once.

It is a category where crypto payment is common, for reasons that are partly about privacy and partly about the fact that a lot of the customer base is already transacting on-chain.

Four stablecoins, one omission worth noting

IPRoyal’s published list names USDT, USDC, Dai and Binance USD.

We have recorded the first three. BUSD is deliberately left off: Paxos stopped minting it in February 2023 under instruction from the New York Department of Financial Services, and the supply has been redeemed down since. A merchant list that still names BUSD is almost certainly just stale rather than actively wrong, but publishing “you can pay IPRoyal in BUSD” would send readers looking for a token they should not be acquiring. If you hold BUSD, redeem it rather than spend it.

Dai is the interesting inclusion. It is the only major stablecoin here that is not issued by a company — it is over-collateralised and governed on-chain — and it turns up at maybe one merchant in ten. If you hold DAI and have struggled to spend it, this is a place you can.

Networks are unstated, and the amounts are small

IPRoyal lists Tron, Polygon, Solana and Arbitrum among its accepted native assets, so the gateway plainly reaches those chains. It does not say which of them the stablecoins settle on.

That gap matters more here than at a hosting company, because of order size. Residential proxy traffic is often bought a few gigabytes at a time, and datacentre IPs by the handful. A $5 or $10 top-up paid in USDC on Ethereum mainnet can attract a gas fee comparable to the purchase itself. If the checkout offers you a layer 2 or Tron, take it.

A note on what proxies are for

Proxy services sit in a grey area of the web economy and it would be dishonest to list one without saying so. The legitimate uses are real and large — price monitoring, brand protection, verifying that your own ads render correctly in other countries, academic data collection. The illegitimate ones are also real. IPRoyal publishes a residential-network consent model and an acceptable-use policy; whether a given use is lawful depends on the target site’s terms and your jurisdiction, and that is on the buyer rather than on the directory.
