Payment notes

ExpressVPN stopped accepting cryptocurrency. Subscriptions previously bought with crypto via BitPay will not renew automatically. If you want a VPN you can pay for in stablecoins, see the other providers in this category.

Refunds

Not applicable — crypto payment is no longer offered.

Stablecoin refunds are outbound payments a merchant chooses to send, not automatic reversals. There is no chargeback.

ExpressVPN has offered crypto payment for years, and is one of the providers that has put its privacy claims through independent audit.

Audits matter more than the payment page

It is worth repeating the point from the security and privacy hub: crypto acceptance tells you about a provider’s customer base, not its data practices. What tells you about data practices is independent audit, published legal-request handling, and jurisdiction.

This provider has engaged with the first of those, which is a stronger signal than any payment option.

Payment mechanics

Prepaid term, gateway-based, coin list follows the gateway. Standard for the category.

Router support

Worth mentioning because it is a genuine differentiator: coverage at the router level protects devices that cannot run a VPN client. Unrelated to payment, relevant to whether this is the right provider for you.

Verification

No longer accepting Verified August 2026

We believe this merchant has stopped accepting stablecoin payments. Kept for reference.

ExpressVPN no longer accepts cryptocurrency. Its current payment-methods support page lists only credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, with no mention of crypto. ExpressVPN previously accepted Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and the USDC, BUSD, PAX and GUSD stablecoins via BitPay, and subscriptions bought that way do not auto-renew. Kept here because "does ExpressVPN still accept crypto?" is a question people search for, and a great many directories still answer it wrongly.
