Payment notes

This record carries a caveat that most do not. AlexHost's payment FAQ names USDT among the coins a customer selects at checkout, and identifies xMoney as the gateway. A different AlexHost page, aimed at the same question, lists only Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and XRP — no stablecoin at all. Two merchant-owned pages, two different answers. We have recorded USDT because one of them names it explicitly, but the status is "may vary" rather than verified for exactly this reason. The network is undocumented, and independent reports suggest xMoney defaults USDT to Polygon; if that is right, sending TRC-20 Tether would destroy the funds. Read the address and chain in the checkout carefully.

Refunds

AlexHost publishes a money-back policy on some products. Crypto payments are not automatically reversible; confirm refund handling with support first.

Stablecoin refunds are outbound payments a merchant chooses to send, not automatic reversals. There is no chargeback.

AlexHost sells hosting from Moldova and sells it on jurisdiction. The pitch is offshore: a country outside the EU and outside the reach of routine DMCA takedown practice, with a stated policy of not acting on complaints that would be actioned automatically elsewhere. Customers come for that, and a chunk of them want to pay without a card in their name attached to it.

Why this listing says “may vary”

We found two pages on alexhost.com addressing the same question and giving different answers.

The FAQ on payment methods describes the crypto checkout and refers to “selecting a specific coin (e.g. ETH, USDT, BNB)”. That is AlexHost stating that USDT is one of the things you can pick.

The dedicated VPS-with-cryptocurrency landing page lists what it accepts as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ripple. No Tether, no USDC, no stablecoin of any kind.

Both are AlexHost’s own pages. We cannot reconcile them from the outside, so we have not pretended to. USDT is listed here because a merchant page names it; the status is “payment availability may vary” because another merchant page contradicts it. If you are planning to pay this way, open the checkout and confirm before you commit to the plan.

The network problem is worse than usual here

Neither page states which chain USDT settles on. That is common enough. What makes it sharper at AlexHost is xMoney: independent reviewers report that its USDT integration defaults to Polygon rather than the Tron or Ethereum most people reach for.

We have not been able to confirm that against AlexHost’s own documentation, which is why the networks field on this record is empty rather than populated with a guess. But treat it as a live risk. A Polygon-network deposit address for USDT is indistinguishable at a glance from an Ethereum one — both are 0x addresses — and sending ERC-20 Tether to a Polygon address, or TRC-20 Tether to either, loses the money outright.

Copy the chain name from the checkout. Set the same chain in your wallet. Then send.

What you are actually buying

Offshore hosting is a real product with real tradeoffs, and it is worth being clear-eyed. A jurisdiction that ignores takedown requests also tends to offer you less recourse when something goes wrong, and paying in an irreversible asset removes the chargeback that would otherwise be your backstop. That combination is fine if you know you are choosing it. It is not the default you want for a business-critical site.

Verification

Payment availability may vary Verified September 2026

Crypto payment is confirmed, but the exact coin list is not fixed — it can depend on your country, the product, which checkout you reach, or which assets the merchant's payment gateway currently enables.

Acceptance of cryptocurrency is not in doubt — AlexHost markets a dedicated "VPS with cryptocurrency" product line and names xMoney as its gateway. The stablecoin position is less settled. AlexHost's payment-methods FAQ refers to selecting a coin "e.g. ETH, USDT, BNB", which names USDT directly. Its VPS-with-cryptocurrency page lists Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ripple, with no stablecoin. Neither page states a network for USDT. We list USDT on the strength of the FAQ but mark the record "may vary" because the merchant's own documentation is internally inconsistent, and we have claimed no network.
