Entertainment that accept stablecoins

Entertainment is where stablecoin acceptance is thinnest and where it is most visible when it happens: a cinema chain taking USDC at the box office is a different kind of evidence from a hosting company adding a gateway. The merchants here are the ones we could document — in most cases through the payment network rather than the venue, because chains that accept digital currency at the till rarely say so on their own sites. Expect in-person payment through a wallet app, dollar settlement on the merchant's side, and an ordinary receipt. Promotions that launch these arrangements — a discount for a fortnight — end; we record the acceptance, not the offer, and date both.

Entertainment is a small category and likely to stay one for a while. The reason is structural: tickets are sold through platforms, and platforms are slow to add payment methods that their merchants have not asked for.

What does exist tends to arrive through a point-of-sale network rather than the venue — a chain enables a Flexa terminal feature and a wallet app lights up. That is real acceptance, but it is documented by the network, and the record says so.

What we checked (September 2026)

A pass through the category found nothing to add, and the reasons are worth recording. AMC Theatres takes crypto through BitPay but has only ever named Bitcoin, Ether, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Dogecoin and Shiba Inu; its site blocks automated reading and no current page names a stablecoin. The sports teams that announced BitPay in 2014–2021 — the Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and San Jose Sharks, whose 2021 announcement did name USDC — no longer mention crypto on their ticket pages. Ticketmaster and the other mainstream ticketing platforms take cards only. Crypto conferences (Devcon, EthCC, Consensus, Permissionless, Breakpoint) sell through ticketing platforms whose public pages name no stablecoin, whatever the checkout offers. The Solana Mobile and Base-ecosystem “experiences” are not venues. Regal, through Flexa, remains the one entertainment merchant a stablecoin holder can actually use, and the record says how.

Entertainment questions

Can I buy cinema tickets with USDC?
In person at Regal in the United States, through Flexa, from a wallet that supports it. Not online — the option does not appear on the chain's website or app. Other chains have run crypto promotions in the past; we list only what we can document as current.
Why is the list so short?
Because most entertainment spending happens through ticketing platforms and apps that do not take crypto, and because the venues that do accept it at the till seldom publish the fact. We add merchants when either the venue or its payment network documents the arrangement, and not before.
Does AMC take USDC?
Not by its own account. AMC's crypto route is BitPay, and the assets AMC has named are Bitcoin, Ether, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Dogecoin and Shiba Inu. BitPay's checkout carries stablecoins for merchants that enable them, and third-party guides say AMC does, but AMC itself does not, and its site refuses automated reading, so AMC is not listed.
What about sports teams and conferences?
The Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and San Jose Sharks all announced BitPay acceptance between 2014 and 2021 — the Sharks' announcement named USDC — but none of their current ticket pages mentions crypto, so none is listed. Crypto conferences sell tickets through platforms whose pages, as readable, name no stablecoin either.
Do launch discounts last?
Usually not. Regal's 10% USDC discount ran for two weeks over the 2024–25 holidays. Records here note the promotion and its end date so you do not turn up expecting it.
